About Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia
Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia is an alumnus of three of India’s premier institutions: JIPMER (Pondicherry) for MBBS, AIIMS (New Delhi) for MD in Internal Medicine, and SCTIMST (Trivandrum) for DM in Cardiology.
He further completed a fellowship in Complex Coronary and Structural Heart Disease from GOKI, Budapest, Hungary, where he worked for about three years.
Dr. Chaurasia is nationally and internationally recognized for his pioneering work in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR), with one of the highest numbers of TAVI/TAVR procedures in India (over 1000). He was among the first TAVI proctors in India and has also performed advanced procedures like Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement (TPVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR), BMV, and Mitra-clip.
He has performed more than 10,000 cardiac procedures to date and is highly skilled in complex coronary interventions including Left Main interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO) procedures, and advanced catheter-based treatments such as renal artery denervation.
Dr. Chaurasia is an active faculty member at numerous national and international conferences, has conducted TAVI workshops worldwide, and has trained many doctors in India and abroad.
